Swedish artist Emil Olsson is an innovative artist. He loves to mix different styles and materials such as spray paint and oil in the same painting, or stencils with hand finishing. The contrast between the old and the new: a Renaissance street art on canvas. His paintings mostly represents women who are, in his opinion, everyday heroes.
I started to take an interest in paintings and painting when i first discovered street art and urban culture. It was love at first sight. I can’t really say what it was that caught my attention, the strong statements or the beauty of the artwork. Perhaps the combination. I find inspiration in ordinary things, everyday actions and happenings. And I am always trying to highlight female thoughts and feelings. To me, a woman is a warrior and a hero, forever fighting patriarchal society.
He had his first solo show at Galleri Ramfjord in 2017
