The exhibition “The Anatomy of Presence” grasps the intricate state of human presence. His paintings are made by building up several layers, and the compositions often take form in unexpected ways. He works his way around the canvas and the direction changes as he works on each layer, as he adds new motifs, making each layer weave into each other. Playing with different perspectives and angles, the motifs comes alive in an organic fusion of human silhouettes and Danish design.
“In the study of the anatomy of presence, one must map the many places where presence occurs and, with those connection points, experimentally create a skeleton. The skeleton of the anatomy with joints and spine, with long and short bones in systems and the cranium where perhaps dreams occurs, sensations of reality and secret states, morals and ethics. ” – André Lundquist
