Ingebjørg Støyva was born in Bergen, Norway 1978.
She grew up in a small village by the Sognefjord, with her father, brother and grandmother. She was in her early teens when she found her interest in Art, and a love for colors. Her painting gave her other ways to tell stories, and to communicate without using spoken words. This continuously follows her and in her work the search to employ illustrative techniques in means to express the subtle. You can call her a narrative painter – The act of suggesting, rather than stating, a mood or a story. Her own hope is that the elements in her work are somehow emotionally recognisable…
Ingebjørg is represented at Galleri Ramfjord and had her first solo show in the gallery in 2015. Since then she has been exhibiting with the gallery at ART COPENHAGEN, SCOPE Miami, SCOPE Basel, Vertical Gallery Chicago, House of Arts, Salzburg etc…
Her paintings are part of several private and public collections, such as the Bennett Collection in the US.
